During his 30+ years of collecting, restoring and selling vintage audio, no matter how great the speakers were that happened to be in his listening room, almost without exception, Doug has felt they were missing some elusive element. And he’s had it all: electrostats; planars; dual-concentrics; AMT & ribbon tweeters; VOTs; crazy panel speakers with tens of drivers, you name it. Always that same elusive…missing thing.
He constantly dreamed of building his own speakers in hopes of addressing the mysterious lack. Because music is that important. Because there’s nothing like hearing music as it was made, the way you were made to hear it.
HEAR TODAY is the result of this work. All the years scrutinizing how the masters did it, learning about audio components and how they interact, how our bodies process sound. These speakers are the culmination. They melt your walls and immerse you in the music’s dimensional detail.
